Trey's back in T Ball

Trey had his first T ball practice last Thursday. He had been asking us when we were gonna take him to play baseball again so we signed him back up. It's been almost a year since his last season. We are practicing twice a week and games are every Saturday...which makes for a busy week! This coming Saturday is Trey's first game...and Javi and I are playing in a co-ed softball tournament too. I don't know yet how we are gonna pull off being in both places at one time...

Trey's Tia Susan bought him his first pair of cleats and sent them to him. The smallest size they make cleats in is size 10 which Trey is just now fitting in to. So this is the first time he has worn cleats. Wednesday night, Javi was getting all of Trey's stuff together for practice and had Trey try on his new cleats...it was the cutest thing! He put them on and would run from one side of the house to the other saying "look how fast I can run in my cleats". Then Javi was putting him in bed and told him to come give me a kiss goodnight. He walked up to me REALLY slowly and said "Mom, do you know why I am walking so slow?" I said "NO why?" he said "because I DON'T have my cleats on!"

Talan's new trick

Yesterday when I picked the boys up from school, I was getting them in the car and Talan started doing this thing with his tongue...Trey thought it was really funny! Then when I gave him a bottle when we got home, he did it again...but the funniest was when he was in his highchair eating his baby food. I would give him a spoonful of food and he would do his tongue trick and the food would dribble out everywhere. It was messy but very cute....

more Easter pictures

Like I said in my last blog...Javi picked up his Nana this morning so she could come over and spend the day with us and the boys...
I made dinner for everyone...ham, macaroni and cheese (my favorite Paula Dean crock pot recipe) , green bean casserole and rolls and J made a yummy potato side dish. I also made Easter cupcakes...
and I tried to make Easter shaped Jello Jigglers...but they were kinda hard to get out of the molds. Talan LOVED them... I'm not sure what he enjoyed more, the taste of the Jello or squishing it around in his hands!
he also LOVED the ham...have I mentioned before that Talan LOVES any and every food he can get his hands on!
and YES he ate ALL of that ham!

A few weeks ago I found this adorable t shirt for Trey to wear today...
It's kinda blurry but it says "Hangin' with my PEEPS". Isn't this just the cutest shirt you have ever seen? I was bummed bc they didn't have one in Talan's size. But then I remembered that I had the shirt and tie that Trey wore on his first Easter (Trey was 15 months old)...

Happy Easter

Happy Easter to everyone!!!

It has been a busy weekend getting ready for today. Yesterday morning, we dyed Easter eggs...Transformer style of course.
Then Javi had to build Trey and Talan's Easter present which is an adorable little club house we found at Costco. Our plan was for Javi to build it Saturday and have it in the backyard with the easter baskets when Trey woke up Easter morning. Javi had to go to Trey's first t-ball meeting of the season at 1:00 yesterday and I decided to take Trey to the movies (to keep him out of the house so Javi could build his clubhouse) with my neighbor Michelle and her son Drew. We saw Monsters VS. Aliens in 3D!
The movie was adorable...I think I liked it more than the kids did. It really cracks me up the adult humor they put in kids these kids movies that is way over their heads but all of the adults are laughing! I figured going to the movie would get us out of the house long enought to give Javi enough time to get the clubhouse built before we got home. But we were finished at the movies before Javi even got home from the t-ball meeting...then it started raining. So Javi and our neighbor J built it in our neighbor's garage and then brought it over on J's trailer and carried it into our backyard after Trey had fallen asleep. Then last night before we went to bed, Javi left a letter from the Easter Bunny on the floor in Trey's room by his door with a trail of eggs from his room leading to the back door. The letter said that the Easter Bunny had come to visit him and Talan and left them a surprise. Follow the path of eggs and they would lead him to a special treat! I set my alarm for 5am so I could take the boy's Easter baskets outside and put them in the little clubhouse. Trey woke up at 5:45 am...UGGHHH! He was so excited about all the eggs and the letter. He made us get out of bed right away to go see!

IT IS SO CUTE!!! It has a little basket ball hoop, a mailbox and a doorbell that really works on the front. A little BBQ grill and sink on another side...where you can run a little snack shop/concession stand. The back has 2 buckets that you can fill with sand (we have the sand and will fill it today) And the other side has a puppet show window (and it came with 2 hand puppets).

Then we came inside so they could open their Easter baskets...
Trey was so into his new Transformers that he could care less about his basket full of goodies and Talan thought the cellophane wrapping was the best thing ever!!

It is FREEZING outside today too so I hope it warms up so Trey can go outside and enjoy his new clubhouse! I am making a ham for Easter lunch/dinner. Javi is going to pick up his Nana so she can spend the day with us and our neighbors J and Michelle are coming over to eat with us too.

mario cookies

Lately Trey has been having some patience issues...showing us that he has very little of it. Sometimes he asks for something and if I don't know what he is asking for he freaks out! Well tonight he went in the pantry and asked if he could have some "MARIO" cookies. Knowing he was gonna get mad at me because I had no idea what he was talking about and thinking he wanted something that had to do with Mario Kart, I asked him to show me what he wanted.....

he pointed to the OREO cookies....oh that makes perfect sense. So I told him if he ate 3 of his 4 mickey mouse chicken nuggets he could have all the oreos he wanted. He said "I can have all of them?" and I said "Yes". He ate his 3 chicken nuggets and I gave him the bag of mini oreos then I walked away to do something else. An hour or so later I was cleaning up in the kitchen and I looked over at the table and saw this...
He really did eat the whole bag! Except he opened each oreo and only ate the cream!

Trey also refers to chocolate granola bars as chocolate VANILLA bars...it's very confusing. Especially since Trey has always pronounced his words so well, I think we expect that he can express himself perfectly all the time...I guess we forget that he IS just 4!!!

sunday afternoon picnic at the park

Yesterday we went to a wedding that was kinda spread out through the whole day.....ceremony was at 2pm, dinner at 6pm and reception started at 8pm. I packed everything we needed for the boys to be gone for the whole day...or so I thought. While we were driving on the freeway, Javi realized we forgot our stroller in my car (we were in Javi's car) and all we had was the little umbrella stroller for Talan. Which would have been okay but we knew we would be out late and Talan would need to sleep in the stroller...which would have been quite uncomfortable for him in the umbrella stroller. So after the wedding ceremony we had 3 hours to kill so we went to Target to look at the strollers (after all it wouldn't be a bad idea to have an extra stroller in Javi's car too. Of course they were sold out of the one we liked on display. Javi saw a jogging stroller and thought it would be a good idea to get that one so I could jog at the park with Talan...he's not being mean...I've been trying to exercise more lately. So we got the jogging stroller and I LOVE IT!!!Today Javi suggested that we go to the park and have a little picnic while he played baseball with Trey, I could run with Talan. So we packed our little picnic basket ( a mother's day gift from Javi 2 years ago) and off to the park we went. Trey had a blast of course.....

and Talan was so relaxed while I ran that he almost fell asleep. After a little exercise we settled down in the grass and ate our picnic lunch.
Talan was into everything....he even tried to eat the rabbit poop in the grass!

Talan is 9 months old

Talan will be 9 months old tomorrow so it was time to take him for pictures again. I decided to give the Picture People another chance after our last few experiences have been pretty bad...and boy am I glad I did give them another chance....
Because I LOVE HOW THE ALL THE PICTURES CAME OUT TODAY!!!!

it helps that Talan is FINALLY sitting up on his own and can do a few more poses now...besides "just laying there". Doesn't he just look like such a BIG BOY sitting here all by himself???

I also wanted to take some Spring/Easter pictures of both of the boys. These turned out awesome too!!! All around it was a good picture day experience. They were on time and quick with helping us, the boys were happy and cooperative and mommy LOVES the pictures!

priceless...

Last Saturday, Javi, Trey, Pablo and John Paul went to a Diamondbacks spring training game, Trey obviously missed his nap. While the boys were gone, I did some yard work and then Gina came over and we sat by the pool relaxing. Since the pool is still FREEZING cold...we decided to heat the spa and sit in it. When the boys got home, Trey joined us in the spa. So after a long day at the baseball park, then swimming and no nap...this is what you get...

Tickets to Diamondbacks game : FREE

A long day with no nap : VERY COSTLY

Trey falling asleep while eating his dinner at the table : PRICELESS

Hipity Hopity Easter's on it's way....

Today after work Javi and I planned on going to Sweet Tomatoes for dinner (I LOVE that place) but Javi wanted to go to the mall first to get some new shoes for work. He picked up the boys from school and we met at the mall. I got there first and when I was walking in I realized that I hadn't even planned yet when I was gonna take the boys to get their pictures taken with the Easter Bunny....and I know that Javi likes to be there when we do stuff like that so Fridays were out of the question. As I walked in (around 4:30pm) I noticed that the Easter Bunny was sitting there all alone with no kids in line to sit on his lap....poor Easter Bunny! I figured just getting their picture out of the way now would be our best bet. So they aren't exactly dressed how I would have liked to dress them if I was "planning" a trip to take pictures with the Easter Bunny and both of them had just woke up from their nap...notice Trey's hair...he kinda has the Elvis thing going on! The pictures still turned out cute I think and since we didn't have to make a special trip to the mall AND wait in a ridiculously long line...that makes them even better!

cutest pjs ever....cutest kids ever...

A few weeks ago I went shopping at old navy bc I had a 30% off coupon so I figured I would get the boys some stuff for summer. They were having an amazing sale and then I got the 30% off on top of that. When I got to the car I was looking over my receipt and realized what AMAZING deals I actually got. My favorite find....
was these adorable PJ's that I got for the boys for $3!!!! They were regularly $14.50, on clearance for $4.49 then 30% off of the clearance price. I went back the next day and cleaned out the rack of all sizes left up to 2T for Talan and 5T for Trey...I think I got about 10 pairs of PJs between the two boys. They are my favorite PJs....so cute!!!
