Disneyland

This year we decided to take Trey to Disneyland for his 4th birthday instead of having a birthday party for him. Every year we stress out about how the weather is going to be for an outside party and last year it rained! So that's when we decided no party this year we would plan a trip somewhere instead....then we saw on TV that Disney was giving free admission on your birthday and since Trey's birthday fell on a Saturday this year...we decided to take full advantage of it and we planned a trip to California. Javi, Erica, Trey, Talan and I all went. And guess what? IT RAINED ON TREY'S BIRTHDAY!!! I can't win!!! We got to Anaheim on Friday afternoon, went to the park on Saturday and drove back home Sunday...it was a quick weekend trip but we all had a blast!!! Here's a little recap:

Like I said...we got to Anaheim in the late afternoon (after we stopped somewhere in California at an AWESOME outlet mall) we went to Outback for dinner...Trey got an ice cream sundae for his birthday!
then Javi took the boys back to the room and Erica and I walked across the street to Target to look for ponchos (just in case it rained at Disneyland in the morning..there was a 30% chance of rain in the forecast) of course it would be my luck that there was only one poncho left...so we took it. We also found this really cool Batman tent on the clearance rack so we took that too. I was a little concerned that it was going to be too hard to put together but Erica assured me that it was really pretty simple. So we got it and when we got back to the hotel room Erica put the tent together for Trey...not as easy as she thought! :) it's a really cute tent and this is how it stayed right in the middle of our hotel room for 2 days!

Saturday morning we woke up and went to the park. It was very overcast when we got there and about 30 mins later it started to sprinkle (we only had our one poncho from Target for $1.49) we debated whether or not to buy ponchos for $8 each or just wait until after breakfast (because we would be inside that whole time) to see if it would stop raining. We decided to just bite the bullet and buy them. As we were paying for our 4 ponchos (yeah you do the math) Erica said to me "I hope it stops raining soon!" and I said to her "Don't worry it will...as soon as we buy these ponchos" so we put them on and walked out of the store to the next overhang where Javi was waiting with the boys. Trey and Javi put their ponchos on and not even 5 mins later...yep...it stopped raining! It figures!!! But thankfully it didn't rain anymore all day
First ride up...Buzz Light Year and Trey's favorite of the day I think...he rode it 3 times! Look at the picture below. I don't know who liked it more Trey or Javi! Javi was pretty into it by the look on his face...I made reservations at the Plaza Inn for breakfast with Minnie and her friends (which is just random other characters. It was really cool bc Trey got alot of one on one time with them. We made late reservations and we ended up being the last ones in the restaurant and all of them stayed by our table until we left...very cool. At breakfast, Trey got to meet Minnie mouse (Erica has that picture on her camera), Max (Goofy's son and one of the stars of Trey's favorite movie "Mickey's twice upon a Christmas", Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, the fairy godmother from Cinderella, Chip and Dale and Captain Hook.

Talan got a lot of attention from the characters too...he loved them!
Trey got to meet a lot of other characters throughout the park too...he meet Pluto, Goofy, and Mickey of course
But hands down, Trey's favorite thing to do was play in Minnie's house! He would go inside and touch everything....he even climbed into the fridge in her kitchen! He went inside 3 times in a row and the last time, Minnie was greeting people inside! Javi jumped in line when he saw her go in (Trey was too busy doing dishes in Minnie's kitchen to know that she was sitting in the front living room) So Erica came around back and got us to get in line with Javi....I love these pictures...

aww how sweet!!! Trey went on lots of rides and he even went on Thunder Mountain for the first time! He was pretty scared! You have to be 40" to ride so I took him up to the little pole that measures kids and said "let's see if you're big enough to ride" and he said to me "I am big enough mom, because I'M FOUR!!!"

After a long day we headed back to the hotel around 5 pm to eat and rest before we went back to the park at night to watch the fireworks show. Trey passed out...

We rested a little and then went back to Disneyland around 7:30. We stopped at Downtown Disney and let Trey make a build-a-bear with the gift card his nana sent for him to buy toys at disney. He had fun...he dressed his bear in a Spider man costume, named him "Spider Man Bear" then decided he wanted to put his bear in a Batman costume...oh well. The costumes are so cute!

Then we made our way back to Disneyland rode a few more rides and then found a spot to sit and watch Fantasmic at 10:30. They were doing some construction on Main Street so there was no Parade or fireworks but Fantasmic is a really great show! It was really cold...Talan was all bundled up...
It was a LONG day but we had lots of fun with Trey and I hope he had a great 4th birthday that he will always remember!!!

I love these pictures

We took the boys to Target for pictures last weekend....Trey for his 4 year old pictures and Talan's 6 month pictures. I started taking Trey to Target (on the other side of town) when we moved here and were living with Susan and Curtis. I took him for his 18 month, 2 year and 3 year pictures. I always loved how the pictures came out and they are very inexpensive! But then I started going in between to Picture People for the convenience of getting the pictures the same day (but paying a lot more). Lately I have been so disappointed with how the pictures turn out at picture people. I need to just start going to Target all the time....just look how amazing these pictures turned out! I am so happy with them!!! I ordered a lot so everyone will be receiving their copy in the mail soon! =)

new haircut

I finally got up the courage to get the haircut that I have been dreaming about for months now...
We have some friends (Javi's co-worker and his wife) who we have been hanging out with lately and every time I see her I want to cut my hair like hers. So I had asked her for her stylists name a while ago and today I finally went to see her. And I absolutely love her....and my new haircut!!!! After 2 years I have finally found someone I will go back to (besides Clarissa). Now I just hope I can style it good on my own.....

FINALLY.....

We FINALLY got Mario Kart for our Wii today!!! After weeks and weeks of trying to get it and everyone rubbing it in our face saying how much fun it is... it has been sold out everywhere in Tucson. Our next door neighbor is a manager at Costco and he told Javi earlier this week that they were supposed to get a new shipment and have it back in stock today. So at 10am, as soon as Costco opened, I called and they had 12!!! So I rushed over to get my hands on one! By the way, maybe I should mention that Costco is my favorite store of all time...my neighbor always tells me that I know more about the items that Costco sells than he does (and he's the manager). Tonight I sat outside with him while the kids all played outside and he said to me..."it's pretty funny that you knew we had Mario Kart before I did!" What can I say....I was on a Mario Kart mission. Apparently everyone else already has Mario Kart so Javi and I have lots of practicing to do to catch up and then....it's on.....

funny moment to remember

Here's another funny "Trey" moment that recently happened and I thought it was worth blogging about. Talan (like most babies his age) has figured out how to get both of his feet in his mouth and he can't keep them out of there...which has made changing his diaper and his clothes very difficult! So Friday morning when Talan woke up, I was changing his diaper and Trey got out of bed and came in to Talan's room with us. I was trying to get Talan's new diaper on and I was having a really hard time. I asked Trey "Why do babies eat their feet?" and he looked at me like I was crazy with his little forehead wrinkled and said, "I don't know, I'm not a scientist!!!". Of course I started laughing and thought to myself...."keep talking like that and you just might be you little smarty pants!" He is too funny!!!
Here is another cute picture of the boys.....Talan had just eaten...can you tell?!?

Talan is holding his bottle...almost

Talan has started holding his own bottle...and I it's definitely a milestone that I am so excited about!!! He still hasn't mastered it and you have to be right there to help in case it totally falls but he is doing very good. And Trey is just AMAZED! The first time he saw it he said, "Mommy Talan can eat by himself?" Yesterday he tried a new grip and it works really well....a little smile break...

Yesterday Trey didn't take a nap...then late in the afternoon Javi and I were cleaning up around the house because we were having a few people over to watch the Cardinals game and Javi couldn't find Trey. He was walking around the house calling his name....and nothing. Javi said he started getting a little scared....and then he found him....(it's like where's waldo) Trey had fallen asleep in the corner of his room on the floor and from the door to his room you can't see him because he was hidden behind the bed. Trey has so much energy and he just keeps going (we call him the energizer bunny) and then in the blink of an eye he is crashed sleeping just like that with no warning at all...it's pretty funny!

So I had to take Trey to the doctor on Friday (it seems like I'm at the doctor every Friday with one of the boys) because he had a really red rash on his cheeks. The diagnosis.....FIFTHS DISEASE. I hate that it's got the word "disease" in there but it's really not a big deal according to the doctor. He was contagious a week before the rash broke out (so now I have to watch for Talan to get it...GREAT!!!) but there are no other complications other than the rash and there is no treatment for it. It's called "Slapped cheek syndrome" because the redness looks like their little cheeks got slapped. And then the rash spreads to the arms and legs and looks "lacey". He wouldn't let me take a picture of it so I got one while he was sleeping. Notice the rash on his arms too now....

jumpy...jumpy....jumpy

We put together Talan's rainforest jumperoo thingy for Christmas (even though it was a baby shower gift from Gina but we won't tell Trey or Talan that) and he absolutely loves it!!! Here he is in action..

He also likes to pull on his big brother's nice long curls!!!! Tonight Trey was trying to blow on Talan's belly to make him laugh and Talan grabbed a handful of Trey's curls and wouldn't let go...Talan thought it was pretty funny but obviously Trey did not!!! But Trey keeps getting in his face for more...some people never learn!!!

Talan is 6 months old

Talan is 6 months old today! This morning I got Talan dressed (in a regular outfit) and took out his "6 month" onesie, hung it over his crib and thought to myself, this way i won't forget to put it in him and take his pictures on the 6th....I even looked over at the calendar that is hanging on the wall in his room and thought to myself, okay I have to take his pictures on TUESDAY which is the 6th. Then i got in the shower and realized Oh my goodness...Talan is 6 months old TODAY NOT TUESDAY!!! What a bad mom (who obviously has too much on her mind) what was I thinking? I guess I was thinking the 6th bc he is 6 months old...I don't know....Anyway, I got out of the shower and changed him into his 6 month onesie to take some pictures....
He is rolling over both ways now...
and pushing up on his belly really good...
and putting everything he can get his hands on into his mouth....he is really close to sitting up....
but we still need to work on this one a little....

and down he goes......
