Happy 30th Birthday Javi

Now he can finally stop giving me a hard time about being the big "30". Ha ha. Last night Trey and I made Javi a birthday cake. I thought Trey would have a good time decorating it....and he did. He liked licking the utensils too....but who doesn't?He had fun decorating the cake too...as you can see he REALLY likes sprinkles.
Tonight we went to eat Sushi for Javi's birthday....it was really good and we ate way too much as usual. When we came home Javi opened his presents. He got a Lacoste shirt and his white gold and diamond cross that I got him back in February at the Gem Show and of course couldn't wait until his actual birthday to give to him. (I am so bad at surprises....I don't know how I can wait and not find out the sex of the baby...I actually surprise myself with that!) And this is what Trey got for his daddy....
It's a Spider Man 4x4...just what Javi has always wanted. Then we sang "Happy Birthday" I asked Trey how many candles he wanted to put on daddy's cake and he said "Alot of them" so we put 30 candles on the cake....I'm surprised the smoke detector didn't go off after they blew them out. HAHAHA! Look at all the smoke in the picture! When we lit the candles to start signing Happy Birthday, Trey said "hold on I have to go get my camera to take your picture" and ran to his room to get it. He is so cute!

And here is Trey making one of his cute "Funny Faces"

My last ultrasound

I forgot to post pictures of my last ultrasound which was about a week and a half ago. This was the 3rd ultrasound I've had so far....because my doctor wanted to check the size of the baby again. At my 2nd ultrasound she said the baby was measuring a little bigger and it was making my due date a little earlier. From 8/2 to 7/26 and since we are planning to have a c-section on 7/25, she said there was a chance I could go into labor before my scheduled c-section date so she wanted to do another ultrasound to check the size of the baby.....well....to make things even more confusing.....this last ultrasound measured the baby and recalculated my due date to 7/20...which is now 5 days earlier than my c-section date!!! She said she still felt most comfortable leaving my c-section scheduled for 7/25 so we'll see if I make it. My mom and Javi's mom both get here on the 24th so I hope I can hold on till then! Here are some of the pictures. They aren't as clear as they looked at the doctors office but you can get the idea. The baby was so cute he/she kept opening his/her mouth and sticking his/her tongue out. The first one is a profile shot of the head with it's hand in it's mouth and the second one is a profile shot with it's mouth open.

Here are some more pictures of us out by the pool today. When we are home, all Trey wants to do is go swimming in the "little pool". I hope when the big pool gets warm enough he wants to swim in it!

The Hooptie

One of Pablo's relatives came to visit Friday from Phoenix and left his car (a 1980 Lincoln Town Car) at Gina and Pablo's house. On Friday night we had a little BBQ get together with the neighbors in front of Buddy and Tori's house when the "HOOPTIE" pulled up for the first time....we were all laughing! We were actually talking about our homeowners association at the time and how they send us petty letters for weeds and leaving our garbage cans out for a day, etc. So we were all joking with Pablo that he would for sure get a notice from the HOA for having that piece of junk parked in front of his house! So yesterday, Gina and Pablo came over to hang out and they drove the hooptie! For those of you that don't know, they only live 2 houses away across the street! After a couple hours Gina noticed that it had a big orange warning sticker for being illeagally parked on the window. We knew it was our neighbor Buddy, who is a Sheriff, joking with him. Then him and Javi were dying to drive it somewhere...anywhere they didn't care! So we sent them down the street to Ace hardware to get concrete screws so I could hang my sun by the pool on the brick wall....they jumped at the opportunity to go! So here they are getting in and "pimpin" the car. They wanted to go to "Twice as Nice" a consignment shop so they could by white suits! They are so stupid!

Here they are coming back....

A little later we ran out of ice and they were right back in the car and off to the road runner to get some more ice....Pablo kept giving me a hard time because my car has a flat tire in our driveway and I kept reminding Javi that he has to put the spare on so I can get to work on Tuesday...Pablo says not to worry he will let me drive the Lincoln to work! Yeah right!!!

Just hanging out...

It's Memorial Day Weekend and we are just hanging out around the house and enjoying the weather. Last week, Monday and Tuesday were 104 degrees and then the rest of the week cooled down quite a bit. In fact we went to Yvette's high school graduation on Thursday night which was on the football field and it was FREEZING!!! Luckily I had jackets and a blanket in car or we would have been in BIG trouble. So needless to say....our pool that was up to 80 degrees on Tuesday is back in the 60's again! It's so frustrating!!! I told Javi this morning, it's Memorial Day weekend and absolutely gorgeous outside and I can't believe we can't be in the pool! So once again, we heated the spa and got in there. Thank God for our little spa! Here is Trey learning to float...Everything is starting to bloom again since last year and our backyard is looking so pretty! Here are some pictures of my cacti in bloom and the new bird feeder I just got (it's a tiki hut) it had 3 birds on it this afternoon when we went outside. I was excited!
And this is the best part....My little baby (who lets you know he is not a baby anymore, he is a "Big Brother") has learned how to write his own name! He is so smart! He wrote it on his little Nemo dry erase board and came running out of his room so excited to show me what he had done. So I took a picture of it so I could save it forever. If you look closely you can see all the letters...only one small problem, it's backwards! But it's a start....and Jody, do you remember the Christmas ornament you made for mom when you were in preschool that we laugh at every year because it says "Loby"! I guess it's pretty normal!

One More Time

It's getting there...we were actually able to enjoy the pool today. Trey still prefers to be in the spa (I don't really blame him because the pool is still a little too cold for me too). But it was really hot today and supposed to be triple digits all next week so the water should really start warming up now. Trey loves jumping in as you can see in the video but we are worried that he is going to jump in and hurt himself on the steps of the spa. This is what he does all day though....jump in, climb out and do it over and over again! He told me today..."I'm having so much fun in my pool!" He is so cute!

Before we went in the pool we worked in the office cleaning it out and Javi built the new desk we got to make a little more room in there. Our office is gonna have to be an office/guest room now since we turned our old guest room into the baby nursery. The office turned out awesome. I love the new desk! And there is way more room in there now so I can use the room for scrapbooking and sewing projects now too! Yay!!! Well we had so much paper to get rid of after cleaning it out that Javi decided to just burn it in our fire pit instead of having to shred for days...Trey helped him!Saturday we celebrated Javi's Nana's 85th Birthday. The family had a big party for her! It's always nice to get together and see everyone...we had a great time!

Cold Pillow

For those of you that don't know...this is Trey's "Cold Pillow". About a year ago for my birthday I asked Javi to get me a sewing machine (another hobby my friend Kristen turned me on to). I had honestly never sewed before in my life...no I didn't even take home economics in high school. So I figured I would start with something as simple as a square pillow. I found this cute panel for making a pillow with a picture of Diego on it and I figured it would be perfect for Trey......little did I know what would come of this Diego pillow that Trey now can't live without. He calls it his cold pillow because the fabric gets cold when it just sits around so he grabs it, hugs onto it and bites the corners of it! The funny thing is that Javi is the same with pillows...well he doesn't bite them. LOL! He sleeps with like 5 pillows and rotates them in the middle of the night to keep them cold. It's funny because Trey just picked that up from him. Like father like son I guess. Anyway this pillow is pretty disgusting because he carries it all over the house in his mouth so the corners are all chewed and hard. And when I have to wash it....he freaks out. Especially when I give it to him hot out of the dryer, he hates it! Trey never had a blanket or a toy that he had to sleep with when he was a baby. It all started with this Diego pillow. I've had to sew it back together so many times because it falls apart from being washed so much. One day while I was sewing it, he was actually sitting next to me biting it while it went through my sewing machine! Crazy I tell you! So I decided I would make him a nice new cold pillow with sports balls all over it...but nope...not the same, he won't have anything to do with it! Look what I started, all with my first sewing project!

Happy Mother's Day

First I want to say Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's who are reading this....

I woke up this morning to Trey telling me "Mommy, I love you the biggest much!" what more can a mother ask for? Javi and Trey gave me my mother's day presents in bed. Then they took me to brunch at the Westin La Paloma and it was delicious!!! When we were making reservations last week, I told Javi that I didn't care where we went to eat as long as there were waffles....I got my wish (see the picture below).
The food was great and the view of the mountains was beautiful! Then we came home and spent the rest of the afternoon in the pool. Well, actually the spa because the pool is still way to cold! What a bummer!!! It's amazing that it's 90 plus degrees here and our pool is just barely reaching 70 degrees....but it's because the overnight low is in the 50's!!! Thank you again to my wonderful husband and son for a great mother's day! I love you guys!!!

My long awaited trip to IKEA

I have been looking all over for the perfect book shelf for the baby's room and couldn't find anything. I knew I would probably be able to find something at IKEA (since it's the greatest store ever). I just wasn't sure I wanted to drive 2 hours to get there and spend all that money on gas. Then Gina and I decided to make a day of it and I was so excited!!! So we went yesterday and I found my perfect book shelf. It's not the perfect color but dimension wise, it's exactly what I was looking for. So here it is all put together (of course I made Javi wake up this morning, get it out of my car and put it together right after breakfast) and it is perfect for the baby's toys and books. I love it and I'm so glad I went to IKEA....Gina and I had a great time together on our 4 hour journey for the perfect book shelf!!!

My pregnancy craving

So I think I can say that what I'm craving during this pregnancy is ICE CREAM! Which is really weird for me because I wasn't ever much of an ice cream lover. Until Cold Stone came along that is. But that was the only kind that I would really make a big deal about. I never kept ice cream in the house. But now I'm eating it every single night!!! And I'm not the only one as you can see.....I found these cute little kiddie cones that barely hold one scoop of ice cream and Trey loves them! He eats them everynight with his pregnant mommy. When I was pregnant with Trey, my craving was chocolate chip cookies and I would bake those and eat them every single night....this time it's ice cream!

My first video blog

I am offically addicted to this!!!! And I am so excited! I took this video of Trey hitting in our backyard a while ago but I wasn't able to email it to everyone because it was too large for email and I didn't know how to make it small enough to send. So now everyone can see it and I am so excited!!! Isn't he so cute?!

A hygienist's dream

Okay so I know I made a comment on my very first blog that said I hope I have time to sit and write and keep up with this....I guess I should mention that I'm home from work sick today just sitting here on the couch doing nothing else but blogging. My point is, don't get used to 3 new posts everyday! I wanted to try to add pictures to my blog and thought this would be cute to share with you. Trey is obsessed with brushing his teeth! He does it like 5 times a day at least! Of course Mommy helps him at night before bed but during the day he just goes in the bathroom and does it by himself! In fact he was sick on Friday and I wondered if maybe he swallowed too much fluoride from his Dora the Explorer toothpaste! But I dout that...he is acutally really good at spitting into the sink! I'm sure this is just a phase he's going through but as a Dental Hygienist, hearing stories from patients who have to fight with their kids to get them to brush their teeth, it is a Hygienist's dream to have a child who says to me at night, "Mommy we forgot to brush my teeth!" Even when he's already half asleep! It is so cute! It's even cuter when he comes up to me with a big CHEESEY SMILE and says "Mommy look how shiny my teeth are, I just brushed them!" So proud of himself! I just love him!!!

First day in our pool

Well it was a beautiful day yesterday....90 plus degrees but our pool is still WAY too cold to swim in! I mean freezing!!! So Javi decided to heat the pool, but after 2 or 3 hours it was still too cold. Then Trey got tired waiting for it to heat up and had to go in to take a nap. So once he woke up from his nap, the most they were able to do is sit in these new dueling water gun boats Javi got for him and Trey to play with.
Trey was so excited when he saw the boats...he just kept saying "oh WOW" over and over again! So they spent a little while on the boats in the pool, then it was back into the spa where it was nice and warm! I joined them for a little while in the spa because I'm such a wimp in the cold water....it needs to be like 85 degrees or more for me to go in. Javi says that is like bath water and not very refreshing. Trey has a blast in the pool, I just can't wait until we can really enjoy the water.

Okay...here we go

Well after being inspired by Kristen's Blog for over a year now, I've decided to start blogging. Just one more thing to add to my crazy daily routine but you know me....the crazier the better! This way I can add pictures and everyone can keep up with our daily lives. Or as often as I have time to get on and blog that is....
