Movie Night

Trey has been seeing the previews on tv for Kung Fu Panda and saying that he wants to see it. Javi and I don't really go to the movies much...I think we've seen maybe 5 or 6 movies together at the theater in 7 years....the last one was Shrek 3 in May 2007!!! So Friday afternoon we took Trey to see "KUN FOOD PANDA" as Trey calls it! I had a doctors appt. at 11:30 and we had been out driving around running errands all day in the heat and Trey missed his nap and was so grouchy....I mean one of his worst days I can remember. So when Javi got done with work he met us at the movies. While we were waiting for the previews and the movie to start we looked at Trey and he was ready to fall asleep! Great I thought. The movie finally started and Trey actually wanted to stand most of the time so it kept him awake. It was really a cute movie...we all enjoyed it! Here's a funny story...while I was waiting for Javi to get there I went ahead to buy the tickets..Trey was right next to me of course at the window. I asked for 2 adult tickets and 1 child ticket. (kids 3-13 are $5). The guy pointed at Trey and asked if I was buying a ticket for him? I said yes...he asked, "how old is he" I quickly said "2 and 1/2" i looked at Trey who was looking right at the guy and thought to myself...."please don't say anything" but he didn't....thank goodness!!! The guy told me "oh he's free". Whew!!! Close one! I could just hear Trey say to me in a really mad voice "I'm not 2 mommy....I'm 3!!!!"

Hospital Tour

St. Joseph's Hospital main entrance St. Joseph's Hospital new women's pavilion Today we had a tour of St. Joe's Hospital where the baby will be born next month. I was so excited to see it because 3 months ago they opened a brand new women's pavilion center which is where I will be having the baby! I have a couple patients who are nurses at St Joe's and they have been telling me how nice the new hospital is. So today we got to see it for ourselves. It was so nice! The rooms are really big and spread out. We felt like we were the only people there. We got a lot of helpful information about the hospital's policies and then we got to walk around and see all the labor/delivery rooms, baby nursery and the rooms we will be staying in after the baby is born. I was surprised to find out that I might be staying there for 4 days!!! The nurse told us 48 hours for a regular delivery and 4 days for a c-section depending on what your doctor says about releasing you! I hope I don't have to stay for the whole 4 days....we'll see! Trey didn't get to go with us but they have a tour that's for kids (siblings) to get them prepared for everything. I might take Trey to that one so he can see the hospital and the babies in the nursery.....

Here is an update of my belly at 34 weeks....it looks like I swallowed a watermelon huh? I don't know how much bigger it can get in the next 4 weeks!

"Owiees" on my feet

So as I've said before Trey loves to swim in the spa...also known as "his little pool". Now that it is terribly hot here (109 degrees) we have been in the pool almost everyday...even weekdays when we get home from work since it doesn't get dark until almost 8pm. Well I guess from walking around on the steps of the spa Trey rubs the bottom of his feet and especially his big toes raw until they bleed. Then when we get out of the pool for the night we have to watch him limp around the house and cry about the "owiees" on his feet. So yesterday I went to Walmart and got him these Spider man water shoes to wear and they really helped! And he loves them. We were in the pool for 6 hours yesterday and he didn't get any new owiees on his toes...here is a picture of the old owiees healing from earlier in the week! They actually don't look bad at all now but they did when it would first happen. Poor baby!!!!

Happy Father's Day

When I asked Javi what he wanted to do for Father's Day, he told me that all he wanted to do was hang out by the pool all day. We put our bathing suits on and went outside right after breakfast and it's a good thing because it got really cloudy and overcast by 12:30 which is very unusual for Tucson...they say Monsoon season is starting early this year...this week even. I'm excited! I never thought I would say that I was excited to see rain but when you only see it a few months out of the year...you do start looking forward to it. Anyway we spent all day Saturday in the pool so we weren't too upset when we had to come inside today. I asked Javi if he wanted to go somewhere for dinner (since he took me to such an amazing brunch for Mother's Day) and he said he wanted to stay home...so I asked him what he wanted me to make him. He picked Tacos. What a disaster that was!!!! I had grease popping everywhere and the tortillas all opened up so they ended up being more like meat sandwiches than folded tacos...they tasted good though so I guess that's all that matters...but boy were they messy! After dinner we went outside with Trey to play for a little while...he was playing with his Diego water backpack and I love this picture because you can see how much Zoe loves when he plays with it too...she tries to drink the water while he is squirting it (look at her tongue in the picture).

This is what Trey made for Javi at school for Father's Day. It's a life size picture of himself. It is colored exactly in what he had on at school that day. Cheryl always has the kids make the best gifts for us!

Oh this last picture is pretty cool...today while I was in the pool laying on the raft I looked up and realized that the sun had a rainbow around it...I have never seen that before. So Javi took a picture of it and you can see it pretty good.

Another Ultrasound

I went to the doctor on Friday and she did another ultrasound (that makes 4 so far) because she is still checking the growth of the baby since my due dates keep changing. She told me that the very first one that she did at 7 weeks was still the most accurate because as the baby gets bigger it's hard to get a true measurement since you don't know what postion the baby is in. I guess the head is the best measurement and this baby's head is down in my pelvis and hard to get a good measurement. However she did say that it's head and leg are measuring a week earlier than the date we are using...which puts me due right at my c-section date. When she said his/her head was measuring big, I said to her "Oh great does that mean our baby is going to have a big head?" She started laughing. She said the baby is measuring almost 5 lbs right now...wow! They typically gain about a half a pound a week until delivery. Trey was so little...it will be kinda funny if this baby turns out to be really big! So we are still scheduled to have the c-section on July 25th at 5:30 am....hopefully this little one waits until then.......

What a day....

So today started off great but went really bad at lunch time....I had an hour and a half until my next patient so I decided I would go to Target to get a few things I needed. By the way Target is less than 5 minutes from work. I didn't have a patient until 1:00 pm. So I checked out at Target at 12:20 p.m. figuring I would have time to get back (5 minutes away) and get ready for my next patient. WELL......that didn't exactly happen. On June 1st one of our Tucson police officers was shot and killed in an across town shooting spree and today was his funeral. In the time I had been in Target every police officer and fire fighter in Arizona had set up road blocks at every intersection that could possibly lead me back to work! I was stuck and couldn't get to work! I drove around trying to get back to the office from every direction I could think of from 12:20 until after 2p.m.....no luck...that's when I gave up and decided I was going to just cancel the rest of my patients and go home! I was so frustrated, thirsty and HOT (it was 104 degrees today). I still can't believe that I clocked out for lunch and 3 hours later I still couldn't get back!!! So I picked Trey up from school and headed home....but we stopped at Cold Stone first for some Ice Cream. I really needed it!

When we got home Trey wanted to play with Mr. Potato Head in his room so I got it all out for him. I was on the couch watching the news trying to see if there were any other angry people in town that missed a half of a day of work like me. Trey came out to me with his Mr. Potato Head Family that he had dressed like Daddy, Mommy and Trey. I thought it was so cute I had to take a picture to share with you all. My personal favorite is Trey and Mommy's ears...they are tongues. Actually both of Trey's are but he gave me one regular ear and one tongue. LOL!!!

It's my party...

So tonight after Trey's bath, I was in the kitchen and he comes out of his bedroom smiling and singing this song. I said where did you learn that, and he told me "at school". He has this thing now where he wants to see himself in a video on the camera and on my computer...as you will hear him say in the video. What I think is even cuter is that you get to see him in action with his "cold pillow" that I was telling you about in an earlier blog that I posted.

Wow....what a weekend!

We had such a busy weekend and I've had so much to write and share with everyone but not a minute to sit down and do it....until tonight! Whew!!!
Friday night we had a party for Javi's 30th Birthday. It was fun but this is the second...actually third 30th birthday celebration that I haven't really been able to celebrate (by that I mean drink) First Brad's in Vegas, then mine and now Javi's....everyone else seemed to have a great time and I sure had fun watching them all! Here is a picture of all the neighbors thinking about J (one of our neighbors who was recently deployed to Iraq). We miss you J! I think it was Kathy's idea to make the sign and just for the record...the beer in my hand is just a prop I swear! =)
Here are some more pictures of the crazy night...we finally went to bed after 2:00 a.m. and Trey had a tball game which Javi had to coach at 8:30 the next morning.

After Trey's game we headed to Phoenix for the Kenny Chesney "Poets and Pirates" Concert. I told Javi that if Kenny ever came to concert here, I had to go...so he got me tickets for my birtday. What a great husband!!! Well the concert was awesome! We saw Gary Allen, Sammy Hagar ( a little wild but a great performer), Keith Urban and of course Kenny Chesney who is so awesome...I can see why he's been Country Music's entertainer of the year for I think 4 years now. Here is a little video of him singing "Don't Blink".

And some more pictures from the concert......

Kenny Chesney and Uncle Cracker
Keith Urban Sammy HagarWe were at the concert for 9 hours...and Leann Rimes was supposed to be one of the performers too but had to back out b/c she was sick or something. I would have loved to see her too but by the end of the night was almost glad she wasn't there...we didn't get home until 2 a.m. and that's after a long 2hour drive home from Phoenix!!! I told Javi I would drive home if he drove there...but was I regreting that all the way back to Tucson!

Then Sunday was my baby shower (I told you we didn't stop all weekend). It was great and I got lots of nice stuff (neutral of course). Thank you to everyone who helped throw the shower and everyone who came to share the day with us! I was so tired when we got home last night but I really wanted to go through all my stuff. So I unpacked all the gift bags and made piles of everything that I got. Today when I got home from work I put things away and re-organized the room again! Now I am sitting on the couch with my feet up and as soon as I'm done here, I'm going to bed!
