random updates...because I'm such a bad blogger....

OK here I go with random updates from the last few weeks...since I'm so far behind with my blogging!

My friend Kristen (who is also a hygienist and used to work at our office) moved to Texas last year and was in town visiting her family. We had made plans to get together on Friday to go swimming with the kids (since that's about all you can do outside in the summer in Tucson) but the day before we were gonna get together, we found out that Javi got tickets (very last minute) to the Toby Keith concert (also on Friday) in Phoenix and we had to leave early that afternoon to make it to Phoenix in time. So swimming was out of the question. We decided to meet at McDonald's for a quick lunch and so the kids could play together for a little bit. Trey and Kate had a blast playing on the playground and unfortunately since Talan can't, or should I say, WON'T walk it was really hard for him to keep up with Sawyer (who is only 2 months older but walking like a pro) and Kate and Trey. It was so nice to see Kristen...I miss her so much at work!!!!

Then it was off to Phoenix (again) for the Toby Keith concert. It was AWESOME!!!! Probably the best concert I have ever seen! We had a blast!

Oh this is the best new update...Trey is OBSESSED with Michael Jackson!!! I mean it's bad! He listens to "Beat It" over and over all day long. He has it recorded on his DSI and he plays the song more than he actually plays games on it. He loves to watch the "Beat It" video too....he has the whole thing analyzed. I took this picture of him while we were at Gina's house and he was watching the video on You Tube...literally for hours!

Notice that his DSI is facing down on the computer speaker...it's bc he is recording the song to the DSI...about a million times!!!

Ever since we were in Tampa at Mom and Dad's....Talan has become very attached to his blanket! It's gonna be like Trey and his "Cold Pillow" I have a feeling! When I get him out of his crib in the morning he cries unless I get the blanket and bring it with us out to the kitchen to eat breakfast!

And this is my favorite...Talan might not be able to talk (at all) but he is learning sign language...so far he has got "PLEASE" down pretty good...but that's it so far!

we kicked off our season with a victory

We played our first co-ed slow pitch softball game tonight and we won 14-4!!! I brought my camera but I forgot to take pictures of the team because everything was really hectic for me before the game started. They are so strict and have so many rules!!!! It's very official. I was so stressed when we got there (we had to hand out shirts, figure out who got what number, figure out the line up and have it in 10 minutes before the game or you get penalized and can even forfeit the game) that I didn't realize until after the game that I never took our bats out of my bat bag!!! We had fun....it's nice to get all of our friends and family together and have something to look forward to every week.....when I woke up today I was so excited....I felt like I was going to Disneyland!!! Next week we play a team called the "Butt Scratchers" and they look like they are gonna be a pretty tough opponent....so we'll see how next week goes. And I will try to remember to take pictures at next week's game so I can post them.

our vacation

We have been on vacation in Florida for the past week...today is back to the grime! We got in yesterday afternoon and went to bed at 5pm...which is 8pm east coast time! We were all so exhausted..but we had a blast! It came and went too quickly but it sure was great to see everyone!!! Now that I am sitting down to blog...I don't even know where to start. How do I choose which pictures to upload? I just downloaded them from my camera and there are 262 pictures....holy crap!!! So here goes....I will try to briefly recap the trip.

Trey had a BLAST at the beach!!! I was pretty surprised...I thought he was going to like the pool better but we went out to the beach the first day and he loved it and wanted to go back everyday!!!

Jay (kim's boyfriend) helped him find lots of sea creatures in the sand right at the shore line...here is his first little fish!here he is with ashley and lindsey playing in the sand

Come on Jody.....you know you liked them!

we did some boogie boarding....Jay and I both caught baby sharks fishing right off the shore...which pretty much stopped everyone from boogie boarding after that!

Uncle Danny, Ryan, Justin and Ray surfed...even with all the sharks...crazy!!!

We played Baggo or corn hole everyday and the last day we even had a tournament. Javi and jody won the tournament! After that Jody teamed up with uncle bobby and they were unstoppable...nobody would come in from the beach until they beat them...and they never could do it!

But here is the highlight of the trip...Ryan's competition..."BANANA MAN" its a banana in the front and a peel in the back! LOL!!! Javi even missed my boogie boarding bc Jody made him video "BANANA MAN" walking down the beach....yes we even have a video of this!

We had such a great time...we hope to do it again soon with everyone!!!
